Paphos Harbour Fort

The small fort at the end of Paphos harbour was first built in the 13th century. Paphos fort or Paphos castle was built as a Byzantine fort to protect the harbour, it was rebuilt in the 13th century by the Lusignans, and in 1570 it was dismantled by the Venetians who found themselves unable to defend it against the Ottomans, who in their turn restored it after they captured the island.

Paphos fort is very close to restaurants, cafes and shops. Open daily 9am - 6pm (summer) and 9am - 5pm (winter)
